indian elections news updates

We have some breaking inputs coming in. Stay with us for details. We're given to understand that a case has been registered. The Kmot police has registered an FIR against four BJP supporters based on a complaint from the injured India Block supporter, Garan. According to the inputs, sections 143, 294B, and 323 have been slapped against the four BJP supporters.

This comes after a brawl/scuffle between BJP and DMK workers. The DMK workers opposed Anamalai continuing his poll campaign post 10 p.m. Later, left parties also joined the DMK cadre on the ground, leading to the altercation.

Sections 143, 294B, and 323 have been slapped in the FIR. These are the three sections against the BJP supporters for the scuffle that broke out between the two factions yesterday.

The BJP faction is also planning to file a complaint with the Katur police, claiming that they were patiently sitting in the campaign location and it was the DMK supporters who came and created disturbances. They argue that registering an FIR against the BJP supporters alone is unfair, and they plan to file a complaint against the India Block CER as well.

Meanwhile, DMK sources indicate they will take the matter up with the Election Commission, filing a complaint against Anamalai for violating the model code of conduct. They plan to approach the state's Chief Election Officer in Delhi.

The DMK is set to take this matter up officially by this afternoon or evening, filing a complaint with the Election Commission.

This incident follows Anamalai's delay in his campaign schedule, running behind by three hours. When he reached Arampam, it was around 10:40 PM, and a large number of BJP supporters were present. A scuffle broke out between both factions.

The DMK is demanding action against Anamalai for violating the model code of conduct. The BJP, on the other hand, believes they are above the law, protected by the Election Commission.

Legal action has been taken, with the police filing an FIR against four BJP supporters. The DMK has already filed a complaint with the Election Commission, and they accuse Anamalai of resorting to unethical practices out of fear of defeat.
