North Korea is sending its highest level delegation to Iran in nearly 5 years.

The visit comes amid concerns that arms sales by Pyongyang and Tehran are helping fuel conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine.

In a rare public report of the trip, the official Korean Central News Agency confirmed the delegation's visit, accompanied by External Economic Relations Minister Yun drho.

Yun had visited Russia earlier in April and has featured prominently in state media as a key player in trade between Pyongyang and Moscow.

The visit comes as Pyongyang bolsters its military ties with Moscow. South Korea claims the North has sent 7,000 containers to Russia for its war in Ukraine, allegedly in exchange for Moscow's technical assistance for North Korea's spy satellite.

However, both North Korea and Russia have denied the allegations. Russia recently used its United Nations Security Council veto power to disrupt UN sanctions monitoring North Korea amid a probe into the alleged arms transfer.

Kim Jong-un's regime thanked Moscow after the vote. Iran and Russia have close military ties and are political allies. Russia is known to use Iranian drones in its war in Ukraine. For all the latest news, download the Von app and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
