Taking a defiant stance against what he called a 'tyrannical government', AAP leader Sanjay Singh walked out of Tihar jail after serving six months in prison for Delhi's liquor policy. His first words were, “While it may be a time of struggle, it is not always a time to celebrate birthdays.”

Singh's release marked a turning point in the ongoing struggle as senior party leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are also in jail.
Sanjay Singh's return was greeted by a crowd of AAP supporters outside the prison, with drums, flowers and streamers showing the continued support of his followers. Wearing a white Nehru pajama-kurta, Singh, along with his wife Anita Singh and daughter, addressed the gathering with enthusiasm and enthusiasm from the roof of the car.
