Supreme Court of Pakistan launches investigation into alleged interference in legal matters

 Former Chief Justice Jillani, in a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressed his reluctance to dismiss the Commission of Inquiry, citing jurisdictional issues. He emphasized that the allegations of the struggle for independence and justice should be thoroughly investigated. 

 

 Investigation Fund, as stated in its Specifications, will investigate the veracity of  judges' allegations and initiate necessary proceedings against any person or institution that interferes with judicial proceedings. The committee's mandate also allows for the investigation of relevant matters that may arise during the investigation. 

 

 The Supreme Court is well positioned to hear these serious cases, which strengthens its resolve to protect the rule of law and  the independence of the judiciary. As the investigation progresses, all eyes may be on the courtroom and the results of the investigation.
