(war updates ).Iran Issues Stark Warning to Israel: A Look at Missile Capabilities and Escalating Tensions
Iran is not mincing words; in fact, it has issued a fresh warning to Israel. The message is very clear and has been delivered by the Iranian news agency through an infographic. It listed out Iran's many missiles that are capable of reaching Israel. Just look at where the two countries are on the map. This is Iran, and this is Israel. The two countries are around 1,700 kilometers away. Between them are Iraq and Jordan.
Iran claims it has not one, not two, but nine missiles that can reach Israel. These missiles include:
- SEJJIL: range 2,000 to 2,500 km, speed 12 to 14 Mach
- Kum Shaher 4: speed 8-16 Mach
-
- Emad: range 2,000 km, speed 7.2
- Shahab 3: range 2,000 km, speed Mach 7
- Qadr F: range around 1,900 km, speed Mach 9
Paveh..Range 1,650KM ..speed 600-900 kp/h
.These are all Iranian-made missiles. By showcasing them, Iran is sending a message to Israel that they are ready for war and capable of hitting them.
This warning comes after a drone strike on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, where 11 people were killed, including seven members of the IRGC (Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps).
Iran has vowed to avenge the attack, with its ambassador to Syria stating that the response will be at the same magnitude and harshness. Iran's Joint Chief of Staff, Muhammad Bagheri, has stated that Iran will decide how and when to attack Israel, making them regret their actions.
Israel has not officially acknowledged its involvement in the drone strike. Israel's Defense Minister, Yuav Gallant, mentioned that Israel is ready for any situation that may develop with Iran. The potential retaliation could involve a direct faceoff or the use of Iranian proxies like Hezbollah in Lebanon or the Houthis in Yemen.
Tensions have escalated with attacks at sea since the Damascus drone strike, with the Houthis claiming attacks on Israeli and British vessels. The US Central Command reported shooting down an unmanned aerial vehicle. The possibility of a faceoff between Iran and Israel at sea or on land remains uncertain.
Yaya Rahim Safavi, a senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated that the embassies of the Zionist regime are no longer safe. The closure of Israeli embassies around the world raises questions about Iran's potential retaliatory targets.
The region has been on edge, fearing a direct confrontation between Iran and Israel. Both countries possess significant military capabilities, with Israel having around 170,000 troops and 465,000 reserves, while Iran's IRGC has 230,000 troops and 350,000 reserves. Both militaries have combat experience, and while they have engaged in proxy wars, a direct confrontation has been avoided thus far.
The situation remains tense, with many speculating about the possibility of war between Iran and Israel.
